About Me

Hello, my name is La'Shay S. Crayton and I invite you to share in my wanderlust of life!

Greetings Earthings! I am an Oakland, California native living and working  in the city version of  Disneyland... Better known as New York City!! I am married to the mightiest man of valor, Mr. Crayton (Bae, Babe and Cam).  Vocationally I am a trained social epidemiologist, public health practitioner and therapist utilizing Biblical counseling, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and licensed in trauma informed care.

My current research as a research scientist looks at major mood and depressive disorders.  Specifically I am interested in communities in Harlem.  I partner with Columbia University, communities and churches to study the effects, facilitators, barriers and stigma around accessing mental health care. My desire to pursue a public health degree came while studying Nutrition and Food Science as well as the humanities at the University of Ghana and throughout West Africa.

I am the CEO of Crayton Consulting LLC., Where  under my private consulting firm I teach community based participatory research and help to design research studies as well as program planning.  I also provide counseling in person and online (E-Counseling).  My long-term vision is to provide therapy at my private practice, conduct research as well as own and operate a café with my husband.

I spend as much time as I can writing.  Most of my wanderlust of life centers around spirituality, vintage lifestyles, relationships, traveling, community, love, marriage, food and fashion.  Thank you for visiting my blog, you will find a feast of reflections about everything - but all of them are about how I live well and live well loved.

I hope this blog inspires you to explore new places.  Live out loud, enjoy life, be liberated, live well and live well loved.  Leave a comment, Please subscribe and  follow me on social media!

Would you be interested in a paid consultation with me? Maybe you want to talk through some issues or be pointed in the right direction. Consultations are not therapy sessions but can be helpful to guide you and talk through some issues you may be facing.

If you would like to talk through any issues or difficulties that you may be experiencing, I am more than happy to set you up an appointment at my private practice or via phone/video conference.  You can give us a call to work with our therapist. (516) 654-5553.
